Following an idea by Jacquie Wilkes and discussed in the UK Chat Forum for a place to exhibit our favourite images a weekly Exhibition was suggested. SO ... This is the place where members can display one of their favourite photos for others to comment on. The Exhibition runs for a week and will be deleted next Wednesday evening at 7.p.m. (Or as near as I can get!) As with all Exhibitions chatter is frowned upon - silence whilst viewing, your thoughts can be expressed either in the member's Gallery or in the UK Chat forum under the appropriate thread
http://www.myfinepix.com.mt/forum/8/290684
I have noticed that clicking on this link simply brings you back to this page. If however you copy and paste the link into your browser it will take you to the original thread.
Any queries/comments/jokes please visit the information desk which will be found at the above address.
For Exhibitors - one photo per week. (Please don't change your entry - there is always next week.) The photo should be entered into your Gallery with a copy posted into this thread and a link back to the photo (not your whole Gallery or a blog) posted with it. Any queries as to 'How to' please ask at the information desk (Address above).
I hope that folk will try to comment on the photos in this thread - many folk are not as well known as some and all the entries deserve to be viewed with enthusiasm and encouragement. It is a way for the hidden gems of this site to be viewed by other members. Could I also ask members who see a 'gem' whilst browsing the Gallery to ask the photographer to post it here. I think in the first instance if the member's contact button is activated then an email to ask the member to post the image. However this should not prevent gems you have seen from being brought to the notice of other members. We all love to see really great photos, no matter where they are from.
No competition entries.
Enjoy the Gallery.

Hello myfinepix community,
I have been experimenting a lot with black and white, and thought it would be a lovely idea if the community had somewhere to share all their black and white photos, therefore this gallery will be posted every Sunday/Monday.
To show us all your wonderful black and white photos, just upload the black and white photo to your personal gallery, then just comment on this thread and insert the photo you wish to show us, then just select the photo and click insert link, and just paste the URL to the photos in your gallery (alternatively you could just paste the link below/above your photo)
I really looking forward to seeing other peoples black and white photos and if anyone wants to include links to black and white conversion articles or other members black and white photos that you have seen etc, feel free to include them with your gallery entry.
p.s. Please only post 1 photo per week and also, comment on submitted photos in their owners gallery's, and not on this post.
Regards
Dean

Hi, my X-S1 was delivered this week and I just love it but today I started to get problems. First when I try to select macro, in any mode, a lock sign would show in the centre of the screen, this also happened with other features. I did a reset from the tools menu and thatsolved the problem but now when I turn the camera on the screen lights but no functions show and no buttons work for about 15 to 20 seconds???
I have charged the battery, changed the SD card and done another reset but still the same, so I guess my camera is faulty?
Any help or suggestions, thanks.

Hi,
Has anyone tried using the HS10 with the RR-80 remote shutter release?
HS10 uses a micro USB and the RR-80 uses a mini-USB, but before i take the plunge and buy a RR-80 and a mini-micro adapter, has anyone else tried this approach and got it to work?

I've just posted another blog onto my Blogger site, if anyone would like to have a nosey:
http://abirdersblog.blogspot.com/2012/01/2-local-nature-reserves.html
I'm still working on formats & layouts over there, but so far it seems to be far more adaptable. With a section for monitoring stats such as how many visitors, and their source routes - interesting

Hi all,
Apologies if this has been asked before, but what is the best way to get a focus to infinity? I'm trying for dark sky (moon, stars) shots, I've got the exposure pretty much sorted, but an having a big problem with focus in both manual and auto. Camera is a HS20EXR.

Hi friends of the MEMBER'S EXHIBITION GALLERY,
this is the forth SPECIAL edition (already) parallel to Angie D's MEMBER'S EXHIBITION GALLERY. It is in no way meant as a replacement or alternative version of it, it is just an addition. The idea follows the ideas of the original gallery, the only difference being it is themed and will not be on a weekly basis. If there is some interest for this special version we will put it here every 4-6 weeks.
The theme is 'light'. Yes, the stuff that photography is all about. Think about it... A photo without light is nothing but what does light mean to your photos?
If you have ideas for future specials please simply add them to your entry, i will make a list and use themes from this list for next posts.
The rules are the same as for the original: Following an idea by Jacquie Wilkes and the MEG run by Angie D this is the place where members can display one of their favourite themed photos for others to comment on in a special gallery. These specials will be run every 4-6 weeks with themes which come out the group of members which do take part in the special gallery.
The Exhibition runs for a week and will be deleted next Wednesday evening. As with all Exhibitions chatter is frowned upon - silence whilst viewing, your thoughts can be expressed either in the member's Gallery or in the UK Chat forum under the appropriate thread

Thanks to everyone that helped make my mind up about getting a Raynox 250 lens to help me with macro. I also got some advice about getting myself a shutter remote, when i looked into this it came as a surprise that you cant get one for the HS 10 what a bummer. I know there is nothing that can be done about this as there has been previous discussions on the subject. So could some people help me view macro images that were taken on an HS 10 without a shutter remote and restore my faith in my camera.
Donald.
